Assassin's Creed PC Requirements and Specs
Ubisoft have finally unveiled the requirements and spec figures for the long-awaited PC release of Assassin's Creed. Just a quick word of warning before you continue on to the hardware requirements compiled below: You will need a pretty beefy rig to play Assassin's Creed even at the minimum system requirements. If you thought BioShock had some pretty steep graphical requirements then you'll probably be dumbfounded when you see the requirements for the PC version of Assassin's Creed. Yikes.
In order to play this game properly, your PC MUST meet or exceed these minimum requirements:
Supported OS: Windows XP / Vista (only)
Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better recommended)
RAM: 2 GB (3 GB recommended)
Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (512 MB video card recommended) (see supported list)*
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 compliant sound card (5.1 sound card recommended)
DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 libraries (included on disc)
DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
Hard Drive Space: 12 GB
Peripherals Supported: Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)
*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI RADEON X1300-1950 / HD 2000 / 3000 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6600-6800 / 7 / 8 / 9 series
Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.

Assassin's Creed certainly isn't as power hungry as 'even more real than real' Crysis, but it certainly isn't far off. If you've been waiting all this time and managed to hold off buying Assassin's Creed for the Xbox 360 or PS3 and are absolutely determined to play AC on PC: Then now is the time to get that upgrade you've been putting off for so long.

I meet all the requirements with flying colors on my rig save for one. It says my CPU Frequency is not up to par. How do I make this work and is there a workaround ANYWHERE that will help me? I am kinda angry bc although the game was cheap...it appears to be wasted money as once the box is opened it can no longer be returned. I saw nothing in the requirements about CPU Frequency being a problem. Please help.

hi guys i have a problem with assassins creed 2 need some help, first i loaded it and wouldnt let me get on the login screen so reinstalled 5 times didnt do anything, so i rebooted windows xp bit extream but it half worked, i getto the point now when its trying to launch the game but come up with like a out line of a box with ym background still in it then tells me the program is not responding.....
now sicne my pc now has nothing on it but updates from windows and assassins creed 2 do i need to load some flash files or something thats needed to make the game go??? ihave reinstalled twice now jsut same thing.?? please help
