Assassin's Creed PC Requirements and Specs

379 Comments by AssassinsCreedX.com in Assassin's Creed

Ubisoft have finally unveiled the requirements and spec figures for the long-awaited PC release of Assassin's Creed. Just a quick word of warning before you continue on to the hardware requirements compiled below: You will need a pretty beefy rig to play Assassin's Creed even at the minimum system requirements. If you thought BioShock had some pretty steep graphical requirements then you'll probably be dumbfounded when you see the requirements for the PC version of Assassin's Creed. Yikes.

In order to play this game properly, your PC MUST meet or exceed these minimum requirements:

Supported OS: Windows XP / Vista (only)
Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better recommended)
RAM: 2 GB (3 GB recommended)
Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (512 MB video card recommended) (see supported list)*
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 compliant sound card (5.1 sound card recommended)
DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 libraries (included on disc)
DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
Hard Drive Space: 12 GB
Peripherals Supported: Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)

*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI RADEON X1300-1950 / HD 2000 / 3000 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6600-6800 / 7 / 8 / 9 series

Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.

NOTICE: This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some disc and virtual drives.

Assassin's Creed certainly isn't as power hungry as 'even more real than real' Crysis, but it certainly isn't far off. If you've been waiting all this time and managed to hold off buying Assassin's Creed for the Xbox 360 or PS3 and are absolutely determined to play AC on PC: Then now is the time to get that upgrade you've been putting off for so long.

    I have a P4 3Ghz Single Core
    Radeon X700 256
    2 gb of ram
I was actually surprised that the game didn't run half bad on my computer. Decent FPS and all.
The only real problem was that after about three hours or so of playing the graphics would get messed up really bad, and this would carry into windows as I quit the game. The only way to fix this was by restarting my computer.
So I guess it is possible to run it a single core.

u CAN play this game with 2,4ghz pentium 4 and better, 1gb ram and better, nvidia 6600 and better / ati radeon x800 and better... what i mean "CAN" = u can start the game and play it, but i dont know about your fps even when playing on lowest settings with 640x480 resolution... i personally have Core 2 Duo E8400 @ 3Ghz, 4Gb DDR2 RAM (667Mhz) and Asus Magic EN8600GT (512mb DDR2) stock clocks (540Mhz core, 400Mhz memory, 1100Mhz shaders) and run fine 1440x900, 4x AA and all settings high but shadows 1/3, PostFX and VSync Off... and FPS is 22~80... 22 in cities most crowded places and 80 while climbing on buildings... and its very playable and looks amazing, the same that when maxed out but without any shadows (i don't care about shadows too much)

well i hate to burst some ppls bubbles but my machine can play some of todays games and mine is crap lol. example ... command and conquer tiberian wars.. believe spelling is right.... it requires a mininum of dual core proccessor and 2 gigs of ram and a decent video card. it played alright on my machine, and you know what heres my specs for my machine. lol you are gonna laugh.lol. amd 64 sepheron proccessor 1.8 gig, 160 gig hd, 512 ram windows 32 bit sp3 and a nvidia 8600gt 256 video card. i played it on medium detail. but my buddys pc is amd 64 x2 5000, 3 igs of ram and 360 gig hd. and he can only play it on lowest detail. so alot of it is ur video card. ram and processor are just for how quick you want it to load basically, my option. so what about that lol. told you .. strange.
