Assassin's Creed PC Requirements and Specs

389 Comments by AssassinsCreedX.com in Assassin's Creed

Ubisoft have finally unveiled the requirements and spec figures for the long-awaited PC release of Assassin's Creed. Just a quick word of warning before you continue on to the hardware requirements compiled below: You will need a pretty beefy rig to play Assassin's Creed even at the minimum system requirements. If you thought BioShock had some pretty steep graphical requirements then you'll probably be dumbfounded when you see the requirements for the PC version of Assassin's Creed. Yikes.

In order to play this game properly, your PC MUST meet or exceed these minimum requirements:

Supported OS: Windows XP / Vista (only)
Processor: Dual core processor 2.6 GHz Intel Pentium D or AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ (Intel Core 2 Duo 2.2 GHz or AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+ or better recommended)
RAM: 2 GB (3 GB recommended)
Video Card: 256 MB DirectX 10.0–compliant video card or DirectX 9.0–compliant card with Shader Model 3.0 or higher (512 MB video card recommended) (see supported list)*
Sound Card: DirectX 9.0 or 10.0 compliant sound card (5.1 sound card recommended)
DirectX Version: DirectX 10.0 libraries (included on disc)
DVD-ROM: DVD-ROM dual-layer drive
Hard Drive Space: 12 GB
Peripherals Supported: Keyboard, mouse, optional controller (Xbox 360 Controller for Windows recommended)

*Supported Video Cards at Time of Release:
ATI RADEON X1300-1950 / HD 2000 / 3000 series
NVIDIA GeForce 6600-6800 / 7 / 8 / 9 series

Laptop versions of these cards may work but are NOT supported. These chipsets are the only ones that will run this game.

NOTICE: This game contains technology intended to prevent copying that may conflict with some disc and virtual drives.

Assassin's Creed certainly isn't as power hungry as 'even more real than real' Crysis, but it certainly isn't far off. If you've been waiting all this time and managed to hold off buying Assassin's Creed for the Xbox 360 or PS3 and are absolutely determined to play AC on PC: Then now is the time to get that upgrade you've been putting off for so long.

      December 25, 2009

You stand no chance. Your processor is too slow, 2.0 Ghz is not 2.6 Ghz. Well, maybe if you disable Windows Video Manager, and Stop most of the processes from hogging up all your memory, you might be able to play smooth.

    December 25, 2009

Ok look guys, First of all: Type better grammar and spelling and NO caps-lock. Please. If you're laptop meets or exceeds the requirements, (which means MATCHES or the number is HIGHER) then you are good to go. IF you have a Mobile Integrated chipset from a LAPTOP: IT WILL NOT PLAY unless it is a gaming laptop, i.e. it's chipset is of Nvidia or ATI RADEON or any of the other gaming video card companies. Gtfo, if you still ask after this comment "DIZ WILL PLAY, YAH? MAH COMP SPECS HEER!!! ITZ PLAY ON MAH Windows ME????" Please, use common sense.
