Multiplayer in Assassin’s Creed 2?
Published by projectego on January 3, 2008
“Multiplayer in Assassin’s Creed 2?“, this is a great question posted by Assassin’s Creed Forum member, DarknessDeath, and it’s definitely something that I’m sure we’re all hoping to see in Assassin’s Creed 2. I mean, c’mon, how mind-bogglingly incredible would it be to be able to play through Assassin’s Creed 2 with your best friend by your side and take out those pesky Templars co-operatively?
Until DarknessDeath mentioned it, I don’t think I’d even considered the idea of a multiplayer component in an Assassin’s Creed title. It certainly is a shame that the original Assassin’s Creed did not feature multiplayer of some sort but I’m sure some would argue that Assassin’s Creed is absolutely perfectly suited to being a single player experience and the inclusion of multiplayer would have ruined it. Whichever side of the fence you sit, I’m sure you will agree that the idea of mutiplayer in Assassin’s Creed 2 is definitely something that is worthy of discussion.
Personally, I would love to see a co-op mode included in Assassin’s Creed 2, but I’d love to hear what you guys think. Be sure to post your opinion and have your say.

the co-op should be like 2 controlers 2 friends on a miision split-screen free roaming the streets with other AI assassins form Masyaf planing a attack on tempars or something and if there is going to hav a online play well that something different.

you all seem to have a ton of input… and your spelling is great too. I personally can’t see a competitive multilayer in Assassins Creed, and as for Co-Op, possibly, but I think it would ruin the feel of the game. That of course, is just my opinion, but I figure that the games artists, gameplay directors, etc. would feel the same.

You should have split screen so the objectives can get done faster

it needs night/day so at night there is more rooftop gaurds and make it so u have to go inside say a house or castle for the mission.
and make other creeds that help u or try to kill u
the pickpocket get old why not have the pickpocket and have to go in a place or room to take a book or paper for mission info.
and make more people attack u like that try to stop u from killing someone.
also hav more higher ranking assassins in masyaf and in the main cities on there own miision i mean come on there is to going to be just one assassin in all 3 cities there would be others one similar missions.
make co-op split screen and at the start u choose wat u look like make diff clothes diff hoods and weapons before the mission.
Talk to more people in homes and jobs and do odd missions for them.
more archers and rooftop gaurds. some buildings u can go into homes castle walls maybe.
different types of save citezens this would be alright in assassins creed 2 but may be it is too much to ask and by the way WHAT DOES FUCK FACE ‘jjj’ HAVE TO FUCKING SAY INSTEAD OF JUST BAGGING OUT PEOPLE HE DOES NOT KNOW

mybe some small changes in gameplay but the game is great and co-op and multiplayer split-screen would be even better maybe some changes to make the game less repitive 4 assassins creed 2 if it is going to happen
replied on January 12, 2008 at 1:10 am (#904)
and mybe put in archers walking round streets and cities and in masyaf
replied on January 12, 2008 at 1:14 am (#905)
put in split-screen co-op it will be ‘very nice’ and other types side missions and new features

AC2 is fine by me aslong as it has co-op split screens and multi online or something because there is not very many co-op single games out there and if there is it does not have bots or AI to VS but online not every one has online and not everyone would like to VS noobs anyway but besides that it was the first game i got and i am still not bord of it but if UBISOFT makes a new assassins creed game and story and different gamplay and co-op split screen it would be even better.
replied on January 13, 2008 at 12:47 am (#911)
mybe different save citezens like save them from a public excusion and with interrigation maybe if u do not get it the first time u can follow them to there own house or shop.
replied on January 13, 2008 at 1:03 am (#917)
mmmmmmmmmmmm ideas and inspiration 4 AC2 i hope some r included in it.

I would have loved to see some coop in the first one. However the only idea I can come up with for a competitive multilayer online is this……. You play with sixteen other players in a huge city. Such as Jerusalem. Your object is to assassinate the other players however their is a catch. You all are dressed like civilians and have the ability to walk like the AI civilians that plague the city by holding a button. In order to look like an AI your weapons are concealed. However you have full access to them and you can still run around the city jumping from rooftop to rooftop. But that means that anyone of the other players could see you and begin to stalk you and then eventually kill you. Like in the first game when synchronized you could see your threats however you only had to be at full health to do the eagle vision. In multilayer you could use it to stalk out your pray but having your health bar full to use it would be way to easy. So in order for you to be able to use the skill you could do tasks such as saving citizens that are harassed by guards (like in the first game) or climb to a view point and synchronize or just kill a certain number of guards. However when doing these tasks your risk the chance of another player seeing you. Also the guards could pick up on you acting suspicious. But of course you would have to differentiate the strength of weapons. Say you get in a sword fight with another player on the rooftops but instead of meeting you head on he throws a knife and kills you instantly. How cheap would that be. They would have to tone down the damage of certain weapons. But all and all I think this would be a really cool addition to a multiplayer Assassins Creed 2.

Well, if i were to make Ac 2 online compatible i would have it like crackdown, You know..2 assassins work co - operitvley to assassinate their target, But they had to locate him from their own knowledge.
replied on January 16, 2008 at 7:38 am (#934)
sweet idea and also just split scree free roam missions like diiferent targets and also online features maybe choose assassins clothes weapons like similar like in the art book like grey hood rag short blade front bow (maybe) and odd missions other than pickpocket evesdropping interrigation and stuff more like what HSjaah said

but if all these small chnges were made 4 AC2 to make it less dull and repetiveness over and over the rest like free-stepping anf combat and weapons r great and fun 2 use but more miggleing spots and it may be cool if u could take the hood of as a social thing say sit next to a begger or something i like it how the streets r lively as well.

A multiplayer online would be sweet, also multiplayer on the main game with some custom maps to muck-around on.

Here’s an idea, how bout we chill out a little, seeing as Splinter cell: Chaos theory which Ubi made has probably the BEST coop mode ever and I’m sure if they made such a well made coop almost 4 years ago they can do it again. As for Assassins Creed (1) it would be nice to see it have a coop patch, but, I guess ubi is going to put that in the second installment now that we know who the Templar Knights are, that there also are more Assassins, and Desmond is synchronized with Altair. I’m not too worried seeing how Assassins Creed (1) was well made, but, got a little repetitive. I’m sure they will make the second installment deeper by allowing us into buildings, more interaction with the environment, and the AI a little more interactive, but, this is all up to Ubi to decide what goes into the game. I’d just like to see a great game outdone by its predecessor.

if they make a co-op mode the game is going to be pretty much boring.its better 1 player than 2 because it makes the game more challenging.plus what the owners of the anbuis are going to bring in another assassin na come on their out side killing everybody whos trying to rescue desmin.so in my opinion the game will be better one play than 2 also it can be annoying durning split screen.

the original game was absaloutly brilliant the game play was awsome but the side missions could have done with a bit more varity, but other than that the game is brilliant but i too would like to see co-op in assassins creed 2.
replied on February 10, 2008 at 7:32 am (#968)
Co-op would be pretty fantastic, but I think it wouldnt look so great on a split screen since the xbox would have so much trouble rendering such a huge environment… twice. But xbox live and system link co-op should of course be included.
replied on February 21, 2008 at 5:42 am (#983)
being able to counter with hands hidden blade aswell and the co-op player can choose what he looks like at the start like hood grey white no hood where knives should go that type of thing more side missions like people in the streets more gaurd reactions like when climbung and people on there rooftops of homes and they attack u with a stick and throw rocks other assassins and assassin hide outs like streets where u can vanish more blends monks come out of landmarks and u vanish with them like at the start tralior

where’s my crossbow? and maybe duel short swords. going back to the present kinda sux too.
replied on March 1, 2008 at 10:00 pm (#993)
also, why not put the game in a different era/place. this game would work really well for the style of a ninja. it could be way better than Tenchu.
replied on March 2, 2008 at 1:47 am (#995)
and 4 AC2 more blinds like the monk blend play as a begger make it look like u r looking at a store pick up rags like old homo hoods to blend help one persons family from a public exicution and then he can sneek u into a castle hidding in a cart or something more archers rooftop gaurds and the archers shoot u when u are on the ground ppl on rooftops like that chase u when u r one there roof run through houses to escape from grauds or after helpping a person they hide u in there room or house

OMG. Assassin’s Creed with multiplayer would suck. It wouldn’t be secret, and they could betray you and stuff. And you’re supposed to be an assassin, not a dynamic duo. It’d RUIN the whole feel.
replied on March 5, 2008 at 6:51 am (#998)
YA but in real life there would be heaps of different assassins around the city strikeing targets like templars and saracens leaders maybe even the same as who Altair (legend, freedom fighter who fort corruption)would want to kill it would be fun 2 controlers to friends playing a co-op, interraction game where they have to work as a team as a free roam muck-round as well as faceing targets. But even if it does or does not have c0-op i would still love to play the new Assassins creed 2 any way but aslong as they make some gameplay changes like what most of the people said on this blog like different blends, hide outs, more gaurds, citezen reactions, people talk, more side missions, go in castles and homes for missions and odd misions, talk to shop owners for a side mission, more assassins other assassins like templar ones who are after the same target, more assassin hideouts besides the burea, like after an odd mission, more courageous citizens with knifes and blow cover and put up a fight, different clothes, differnet save citezens like from a hanging or something, templars on horse back, recuit assassins at Masyaf.

1st of all, jjj, ur right, those guys do sound retarded.
2nd, I strongly agree with all the guys that say multiplayer would suck, and here’s y: to start with, it would probably be something like medieval counter-strike(yuck, h8 CS). Secondly, I’ve played wow for about 1 year, and I can tell u: you can find some Really retarded, but I mean, REALLY stupid people on the net.Oh, and, btw, split screen? that sux >.>

that would be awsome i think they did a great job with the game personaly but a co-op in AC2 would be amazing considering just jumping around and getting into fights is fun what if they made 2 modes of co-op one where you try to assassinate each other and a co-op mode that would be sweet!!!!!!!!
